Liverpool reportedly among four clubs interested in Tottenham defender Sanchez

Liverpool are among a quartet of clubs interested in signing Tottenham’s out-of-favour defender Davinson Sanchez, according to reports.

Spanish news outlet Fichajes claim Sanchez is a target for Jurgen Klopp to bolster his injury-ravaged squad, while Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan, and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are also said to be considering a move next month.

Sanchez appears to be the fourth-choice centre-back at Spurs, having fallen behind behind Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Joe Rodon in the pecking order.

Sanchez was named in Jose Mourinho’s starting 11 for last night’s Europa League win against Royal Antwerp, but has become an afterthought in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old started four of Tottenham’s opening five league matches this term, but has yet to start since the 3-3 draw with West Ham, and has failed to make the matchday squad for five of the last six PL matches.

During that period, Mourinho’s men have conceded just one goal and the Colombian has his work cut out to become first-choice once again.

Fichajes believe it is “only a matter of time” before Sanchez departs, with Anfield a possible destination

Liverpool have suffered several injuries this season including their first-choice centre-half pairing of Joe Gomez and Virgin van Dijk, who are both out with long-term problems.

CalcioMercato have suggested the former Ajax man is open to leaving in January, while The Sun this week also revealed that AC Milan are considering a move for the 24-year-old next month.
