Austin could be among players leaving QPR

Several QPR players look set to leave the club this summer when their contracts end.

The likes of Yoann Barbet, Dom Ball, Moses Odubajo, Lee Wallace and fans’ favourite Albert Adomah are coming to the end of their deals.

And it turns out that Charlie Austin could be on his way out as well.

Having returned for a second spell at Rangers, initially on loan, Austin was signed last summer in what was announced by the west London club as a two-year deal.

However, West London Sport say Austin in fact signed a one-year deal with a second year dependent on him making a certain number of appearances – and that he has fallen short of that number and is therefore going to be out of contract.

As for Barbet, it has been rumoured among R’s fans on social media for some time that he has not signed a new contract because he wants to return to his native France.

West London Sport, though, say Barbet wants to stay but has not been approached about a new deal and that a number of other Championship clubs have been alerted to the defender’s availability.

It will certainly be a summer of change at QPR, who have confirmed that manager Mark Warburton will leave at the end of the season.
