Les Ferdinand has insisted he has not spoken to the FA about taking over as technical director.
Ferdinand has been linked with the job as Dan Ashworth will be leaving the position to become technical director at Brighton.
But QPR director of football Ferdinand says he is focused on his role at Loftus Road.
He told Football.London: “Contrary to all of the reports that have been read or heard, I’ve not spoken to anyone.
“My name has been mentioned about the role – I think it’s a bit disrespectful to QPR to say that I’d spoken to anyone
“I’m employed by somebody at the moment and I have respect for them. I’d want to speak to them before I spoke to anybody about any other position in football. All of the talk about me speaking to people already is way off the mark.”
Asked if he’d be interested in the role, he said: “I’m interested in what I’m doing at the moment.
“We’re all trying to evolve ourselves in the best way that we can. It’s England; I played for England and you want to work at the highest level that you can but I’m still in the transition of learning what I’m doing at the moment.”
