QPR winger Adomah set to sign new contract

QPR winger Albert Adomah is on course to sign a new deal.

Adomah, a popular figure among fans, is out of contract this summer and has been in discussions about extending his stay at Loftus Road.

And West London Sport say he looks set to put pen to paper, with an agreement seemingly close.

Adomah will offer vast experience to new boss Michael Beale, but defender Yoann Barbet is leaving after three years at the club.

Barbet’s contract is also expiring and he has been unable to agree a new deal.

In a post on social media, he wrote: “All the good things come to an end. I would have loved to stay at the club, but the club and I couldn’t come to an agreement.

“I gave everything for the club, and I hope I’ve been a good example on and off the pitch. You’ll always have a big part in my heart and I will always support the team.”

Barbet was a key player after former manager Mark Warburton, who West London Sport say was keen for the player to be offered a new contract during last season.

The former Brentford man made a shaky start to his QPR career but a switch to a back three made all the difference and his performances as a left-sided centre-back established him as a crowd favourite.
