QPR star given hilarious new nickname after victory over Leeds

Luke Freeman has been hailed after helping QPR end their losing run with a shock win over Leeds.

Freeman scored Rangers’ winner in a 1-0 victory at Loftus Road, where the playmaker was excellent throughout.

Manager Steve McClaren declared afterwards that Freeman is good enough to play in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, team-mate Matt Smith has dubbed the R’s star ‘Antoine Freezmann’ – and fans on Twitter loved the comparison with the France and Atletico Madrid forward.

‘Freezmann’ was badly missed in the defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday but showed his class against a Leeds side that dominated large spells of the game.

McClaren said: “He showed his real quality and infectious enthusiasm that he gives to the team.

“When you’re looking for leadership and looking for people to have courage and take the ball, he’s got all that.

“He was our talisman tonight. There were a lot of heroic performances but his was incredible.

“He’s someone who can play at the top of the Championship, could play in that Leeds team and could play in the Premier League, so we’re delighted to have him here.”
