QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has confirmed that the club are hoping to conclude a deal to sign midfielder Sean Goss from Manchester United.
West London Sport have reported that Rangers have had an offer for the 21-year-old accepted and that he is now discussing personal terms ahead of a proposed permanent move to Loftus Road.
And Ferdinand told the Brent & Kilburn Times that the highly-rated Goss is exactly the kind of player he is keen for Rangers to sign.
“Sean’s very highly rated and the mere fact he is even looking at coming to us is a real positive,” Ferdinand said.
“He’s an excellent young midfielder and exactly the type of player we’ve been looking at. That deal is close to being completed.
“We now need to raise funds to go out and purchase players, so if we can bring a few in who we think will have premium sell-on value, like Sean, then we’re very much moving in the right direction.”
Goss has not made a first-team appearance for United since being signed from Exeter City in 2012.
He could make his debut in QPR’s Championship match against Burton Albion at Loftus Road on Saturday if his signing is completed in time.
