QPR duo could feature in Under-23 game against Millwall today

Darnell Furlong and Grant Hall could both feature for QPR’s Under-23 side in a match against Millwall later today.

Furlong returned to action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against West Ham last week – the defender’s first outing since suffering a knee injury during pre-season.

He is being lined up for today’s game at Rangers’ Harlington training ground, where Hall could also be involved.

Hall has been working his way back to fitness following a troublesome knee problem which kept him out for almost all of last season.

The pair returning to full fitness would be another major boost for manager Steve McClaren, whose team continued their upturn with a 2-0 win at Ipswich on Saturday.

It was their second successive away win and their third victory on the road this season – which is as many as they managed under McClaren’s predecessor Ian Holloway throughout the whole of last term.

“I think we’re slowly going forward with this team and I always thought we would do,” McClaren said.

“The first four games were difficult but we made three very good loan signings, made a big difference to us and the rest of the team responded, they’ve come together, got a great spirit in the dressing room and that’s going out onto the field.

“We’re gaining in confidence, a little bit more belief but still a long way to go and still a lot more to come from this team.”
