Property developer linked with Newcastle takeover joins QPR board

Jamie Reuben has been appointed to the QPR board.

Reuben is a prominent real-estate investor and developer in London and his family were previously linked with a takeover of Newcastle.

He is a friend of Rangers chairman Amit Bhatia and joins him, vice-chairman Ruben Gnanalingam, Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Bin Meranun on the club’s board.

Reuben was formerly chairman of Reuben Brothers Resources, the natural resource and energy platform of Reuben Brothers Group.

He has sat on the boards of numerous companies including Metro Bank, Metro Warehousing and Arena Racing Company, which holds 40% of UK racing fixtures and owns courses such as Royal Windsor and Doncaster.

It is the first major change introduced by Bhatia since he stepped up from vice-chairman to take on the role of chairman.

Bhatia told QPR’s website: “We are delighted to welcome Jamie to the board. He is someone I know very well whose involvement will aid us tremendously.”
