Osayi-Samuel looks set to sign new QPR contract

Bright Osayi-Samuel could be about to sign a new contract at QPR.

The winger’s future has been unclear as he is in the final year of his contract and has rejected offers of a new deal.

However, West London Sport have reported that Rangers are “increasingly hopeful” that Osayi-Samuel will agree a contract extension.

And first-team coach Neil Banfield believes that would be best for the player’s development.

“We want him to stay and I think, for his own development, he should,” Banfield told West London Sport.

“If he starts really firing again – and we’re seeing signs of that – I think it’s going to be a great year for him.

“I think that, like Ebere Eze, he’ll have a good year, get goals and assists, and the big clubs will come in for him.

“Bright should stay. He’ll get a real good opportunity here at the Rangers.

“Sign your contract, play your football and become a better player. Then everything comes from that.”

Ryan Manning is also in the final year of his contract and has been dropped from the squad for recent games.

Manager Mark Warburton has made it clear he will not pick players he does not believe are fully committed to the club.
