QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo looks likely to miss Friday’s match at Derby County.
The Australian has been in excellent form for Rangers but picked up an injury while on international duty and is a major doubt for the trip to the East Midlands.
He did not feature in his country’s 2-0 win against the United Arab Emirates after suffering a knock in training ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier.
Fortunately for Rangers, boss Ian Holloway has plenty of midfield options should Luongo be unavailable for the match against the Rams.
Sean Goss has had to bide his time following his January move from Manchester United, while Jordan Cousins could also be an option following his recovery from a thigh problem.
Irish youngster Ryan Manning has also caught the eye since being promoted to the first team by Holloway.
Holloway’s side travel to Derby in excellent form, having won four consecutive home matches and also impressed on the road – including at title-chasing Newcastle, where they drew, and Leeds United, where they also picked up a point and were fortunate not to win.
A victory on Friday would put Rangers level on points with 10th-placed Derby, lifting them into the top half of the table.
