FOUR moves lined up by QPR as Warburton looks to improve squad

It looks like being a busy period for QPR, with manager Mark Warburton set to make changes to his squad while the transfer window is open.

West London Sport say Warburton is set to clinch the loan signing of Jack Clarke from Tottenham and continue to state that Jan Mlakar and Matt Smith are on their way out of the club.

And the Daily Record suggest the R’s are preparing to table a bid for Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland.

Scotland international Shankland has scored 24 goals this season and could be set for a move to Loftus Road, where Mlakar has failed to make an impact since arriving on loan from Brighton.

Midfielder Smith has also not made an impact since being signed on loan from Manchester City and it seems that both season-long deals will be scrapped.

Warburton made a host of signings after taking over as boss in the summer and the former Glasgow Rangers manager has looked to Scotland for recruits.

He brought in Lee Wallace and goalkeeper Liam Kelly from Rangers and Livingston respectively and is now set to look north of the border in pursuit of a striker.

Shankland, 24, has played twice for Scotland, scoring against San Marino, and QPR director of football Les Ferdinand is reportedly planning to watch him in action in a Scottish Cup game against Hibernian on Sunday.
