Oteh and Owens among QPR youngsters getting new deals

Aramide Oteh and Charlie Owens are among several QPR youngsters to be offered new one-year deals.

Both players were picked up by Rangers after being released by Tottenham last year and have done enough to be retained.

West London Sport reports that the club held an option to extend striker Oteh’s contract by a year and have opted to do so.

However, Chris Paul and Zenon Stylianides, who also joined the R’s after being let go by Spurs, are not having their contracts renewed and are leaving the west London side.

They are all well known to QPR technical director Chris Ramsey, who previously coached at Tottenham.

Ramsey told Rangers’ website: “We would like to thank each and every one of these players for their efforts during their time with the club.

“These decisions are never easy but what’s most important to us is that the process is done in the correct way, and the players’ well-being is at the forefront of our approach.

“As a club, our responsibility towards these individuals doesn’t end here and we will be working with them as best we can to help them with their next steps.”

The other players to be offered new contracts are Ody Alfa, Marcin Brzozowski, Hugo Cardoso, Deshane Dalling, Seny Dieng, Charlie Fox, Giles Phillips, Chay Tilt, Jack Williams and Osman Kakay.

As well as Paul and Stylianides, it’s the end of the road at Rangers for Brandon Adams, Romeo Akinola, Alex Finney, Conor Hudnott and Joshua Wallen.
