Former QPR defender back training with the club as former Spurs youngster joins on trial

Defender Chris Paul, who was released by QPR earlier this year, has been invited back to train with the club.

The 20-year-old Paul, previously of Tottenham, is training with the R’s while he searches for a new club, West London Sport reports.

He has been joined by former Tottenham and Norwich defender Sebastien Bassong, who has also been given permission to train with Rangers.

Both players came on as substitutes for QPR’s development side in a 3-3 draw with Nottingham Forest on Monday afternoon.

Deshane Dalling, Aramide Oteh and Ilias Chair scored for the home side in the game at Rangers’ Harlington training ground.

Paul came on for Grant Hall, who continued his comeback from a knee problem by playing an hour of the game.

The QPR line-up also former Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa and Wealdstone midfielder Montel Agyemang, who are both on trial.

Winger Oduwa, 22, had spells on loan at Glasgow Rangers, Luton, Colchester and Peterborough before being released by Spurs last year. He has since played in Slovenia.

Midfielder Agyemang, 20, has played for a number of non-League clubs since leaving Leyton Orient in 2016, the most recent being Wealdstone.
