QPR could look to use Joe Lumley as a makeweight in a deal to sign Doncaster Rovers captain Ben Whiteman.
West London Sport reports that Rangers are among a number of Championship clubs interested in midfielder Whiteman, who has scored eight goals in League One this season.
And West London Sport has also recently reported that the two clubs are discussing a possible deal for goalkeeper Lumley to stay with the Yorkshire club, where he has been on loan.
It therefore seems probable that an exchange could be discussed, with QPR offering Lumley to Rovers as part of their attempts to take Whiteman to the capital.
Lumley has been on loan with Rovers since 20 November, with his emergency loan deal being extended a number of times.
He is in the final months of his contract at QPR, where he lost his place in the side to Seny Dieng following a series of mistakes.
Swiss keeper Dieng has leapfrogged both Lumley and Scotland international Liam Kelly to become Mark Warburton’s number one.
Kelly is under contract until 2023 and was signed by manager Warburton from Livingston in 2019, so it looks like Lumley will be the one to be shipped out.
