QPR manager Mark Warburton is set to sign a new contract.
West London Sport reports that Warburton has agreed a new deal and is set to put pen to paper prior to Saturday’s Championship opener against Millwall.
Assistant boss John Eustace, who recently turned down the Swansea City manager’s job, is also in line for a new contract.
The news will cheer Rangers fans even more after an excellent second half of last season and some impressive summer signings.
Former Brentford manager Warburton guided Rangers to a ninth-placed finish last season.
That was despite last summer’s departures of forwards Ebere Eze and Jordan Hugill, which followed the loss of Nahki Wells.
There was a dramatic turnaround during the second half of the campaign after the January arrivals of the likes of Charlie Austin and Stefan Johansen.
They have both been signed on a permanent basis along with Jordy de Wijs and Sam Field, who were also on loan with the R’s last season.
Rangers have also signed midfielder Andre Dozzell from Ipswich Town and centre-back Jimmy Dunne from Burnley and brought in left-back Sam McCallum on loan from Norwich City.
West London Sport reports that McCallum’s arrival means Warburton is now looking to offload Niko Hamalainen.
