Burnley striker Wells open to permanent QPR move

Nakhi Wells says he would “gladly” look at a permanent move to QPR if the chances arises at the end of his season-long loan from Burnley.

The striker told West London Sport he is enjoying his time at Loftus Road and could be interested in staying.

The Bermudian, who is under contract at Burnley until 2020, said: “I love it here so far.

“You can’t think too far ahead, but if an opportunity arose like that in the future then, if I had to say it right now, it’s something I would gladly look at.

“The main focus at the moment is to focus and keep helping the team moving forward, do well for myself and see what door opens for the future.”

Wells, 28, has impressed in his four matches for Rangers – despite not scoring.

“I am here to not just score goals but contribute towards them. I am not getting stressed about goals, and they will come,” he said.

“It’s about performances and contributing. If I wasn’t doing that then I’d be worrying.

“It’s about staying focused and keep putting in seven-out-of-ten performances each game and I know the goals are going to come.

“Goals come with confidence and I am a confident person, so I’ll keep believing and I think they’ll start to reel in.”
