Another QPR youngster signs new deal

Teenage forward Eberechi Eze has become the latest QPR youngster to be given a new contract

Osman Kakay, Olamide Shodipo and several other young players at Loftus Road have been given new deals this season and Eze, 18, has now had his contract extended to the summer of 2019.

Eze has impressed in Under-23 matches since being signed in the summer after leaving Millwall.

He has scored nine goals in 14 starts and was on the substitutes’ bench for the first-team’s recent win at Wolves.

“I’m very happy to sign a new contract,” he told Rangers’ website.

“It’s a great boost for me, because I feel like I’ve really developed here since arriving in August.”

Manager Ian Holloway could give Eze his senior debut in today’s FA Cup third-round tie against Blackburn Rovers.

“I know the manager from his time at Millwall when I was there – and I’ve always been fond of him and the way he works,” said Eze.

“He’s been really encouraging to me in his time here and that’s such a massive thing for a player of my age.

“I’m so excited to see how this develops for me at QPR.

“The manager is willing to give the young players a chance and for me, the hard work really starts here.

“I just want to get out on that pitch, wearing the QPR shirt, and show everyone what I can do.

“I believe in my own ability and I can’t wait to see what the next two years bring.”
