Albion defender could be heading to QPR on loan

QPR could be set to add to their squad with the loan signing of Brighton defender Ezequiel Schelotto.

The right-back has been out of favour under Albion boss Chris Hughton this season and Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb recently suggested that he could move to the R’s on loan.

And Hughton has given a clear indication that the former Inter Milan right-back, 29, could be on his way out of the Amex Stadium.

Hughton is reluctant to let players leave during this transfer window but is prepared to let Markus Suttner and possibly Schelotto go in order for them to play first-team football.

“The only one who would go out on loan would be Suttner,” Hughton told the Brighton and Hove Independent.

“That’s probably the only one I see, although Schelotto is another one who will possibly go out on loan.”

Rangers have Darnell Furlong at right-back but are currently without Angel Rangel, who has been sidelined by a thigh problem.

On-loan Brighton striker Tomer Hemed is also out but QPR are hopeful Hemed, Rangel and Geoff Cameron will soon be back.

“Angel, Tomer and Cameron are all progressing well in their rehabilitation,” club doctor Imtiaz Ahmad recently told Rangers’ website.

“Angel and Cameron are continuing gym-based activity whilst Tomer has started on the pitch. We expect all three to return to action in February.”
