QPR look at defender in U-23 game

Trialist Alex Finney played for QPR’s development side again as they were beaten 2-1 at Charlton on Monday.

Finney has been without a club since his Bolton Wanderers contract was terminated by mutual consent in August.

The Huddersfield-born 20-year-old featured for Rangers’ Under-23 team in a recent match against Milwall and he was involved again against the Addicks.

He joined Bolton from Leyton Orient in 2014 and made three first-team appearances for the Lancashire side, two of them coming in the league.

The player is now hoping to earn a contract with Rangers, who invited him to train with them earlier this month.

Eberechi Eze, picked up by QPR after leaving Millwall during the summer, has impressed this season and found the net again.

Eze, 19 equalised just before the half-hour mark after Brandon Hanlan had opened the scoring.

Eze also went close with a free-kick and another long-range effort that was well saved.

But Rangers had AJ Folkes sent off six minutes before half-time after he picked up two yellow cards in quick succession, and Josh Parker restored Charlton’s lead in the second half.

Defender Osman Kakay, who has been part of QPR’s first-team squad in recent weeks, also played.
