Tuchel reportedly wants to sell Lukaku and Werner

Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants Chelsea to sell Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer.

There has been speculation over the futures of both strikers, who have found Kai Havertz ahead of them in boss Tuchel’s pecking order.

And Football Insider claim Tuchel is willing to offload them in order to finance the signing of a top centre-forward.

He was asked at a press conference on Friday about reports in Italy linking Lukaku with a return to Inter Milan this summer.

The German replied: “We don’t reflect on it. The situation at the moment is that we cannot sell and cannot buy, so in this moment we don’t even need to think about it.

“Romelu still plays a big part – not the part that he maybe wants to play and I totally understand that.

“But I feel him very motivated, very strong in training and very much involved. He is a winner and will stay a winner and will stay important for us.

“There’s no space for being distracted and we need all the players to be focused.”

Tuchel also insisted he remains confident Antonio Rudiger will sign a new contract to stay at Chelsea despite Barcelona being linked with the defender.
