Paper round-up: Tottenham, Arsenal and Man Utd unwilling to cough up for Zaha

Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in Wilfried Zaha but are reluctant to pay the asking price, the Daily Star say.

Crystal Palace are said to want £75m for the Ivory Coast international, who recently sparked more speculation about his future by saying he wants to play in the Champions League.

The Star claim Spurs, Arsenal and United all like Zaha but would not be willing to pay that fee.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has moved to dampen the speculation over the player’s future, insisting he believes Zaha will stay at Selhurst Park.

Hodgson said: “I’m looking forward to working with him not only in the near future, but I’m looking forward to seeing him in the Crystal Palace shirt for many years to come.”

Meanwhile, United continue to be linked with Tottenham’s England right-back Kieran Trippier.

The Daily Mirror say United have identified Trippier as a possible alternative if they miss out on Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Mirror say Arsenal have identified Sampdoria’s Dennis Praet as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, but also say Gunners boss Unai Emery’s options in the transfer market may be limited because of concerns over the size of Arsenal’s wage bill.

The Daily Mail claim Stoke City are demanding £30m for goalkeeper Jack Butland, who is apparently wanted by Palace.

The Daily Telegraph say Chelsea will maintain their efforts to tie Callum Hudson-Odoi to a new contract after his Achilles injury seemingly ended Bayern Munich’s pursuit of the youngster.

But the Mail say Hudson-Odoi will still not be rushed into signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge, where his current deal expires next year.

And Tim Sherwood has turned down the QPR manager’s job, according to The Times.
