Spurs and Arsenal among clubs linked with White

Arsenal and Tottenham are among clubs being linked with Brighton defender Ben White.

The centre-back recently made his England debut and has subsequently been called into their squad for the Euros.

He has previously been linked with a number of clubs, including Tottenham, and there is again speculation that he could move this summer.

And the Daily Mirror say Arsenal have joined Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester United in a race to sign White.

Both north London clubs have been tipped to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to make new signings after a disappointing campaign, while incoming director of football Fabio Paratici will have a major job on his hands at Spurs.

Tottenham’s immediate concern is the appointment of a new manager, with Paulo Fonseca reportedly on the verge of taking over.

Fonseca was replaced at Roma by Jose Mourinho, who was sacked as Spurs manager two months ago.

Spurs have turned to him after other attempts to install a successor to Mourinho came to nothing.

Talks with Antonio Conte broke down, while hopes of a return for Mauricio Pochettino from Paris St-Germain were crushed.

Fonseca is not the man many Spurs fans will have been thinking of as the ideal new manager – and that has been reflected in a generally unhappy reaction on social media.
