Chelsea’s Ugbo set for Genk move

Fulham and Watford appear to have missed out on the signing of Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo.

Belgian club Genk look set to complete a deal to sign the 22-year-old this week, reports suggest.

Both Fulham and Watford were linked with Ugbo but he has chosen to stay in Belgium, where he has impressed during a loan spell with Cercle Brugge, scoring 16 goals in 32 league appearances last season.

That fine form attracted interest from a number of clubs and the player is now set to cut his ties with Chelsea.

Ugbo is a product of Chelsea’s academy but has not made a first-team appearance for the club, although he did pick up experience on loan at Barnsley. MK Dons and Scunthorpe prior to him heading to Belgium.

And Ugbo is not the only Chelsea youngster on his way out of the club.

West London Sport reports that Brentford are set to complete the signing of teenage midfielder Myles Peart-Harris.

The 18-year-old has a year remaining on his Blues contract and has been with Chelsea since the age of eight.

And The Athletic reports that West Ham are among clubs keen on midfielder Lewis Bate, who also looks like he will leave Stamford Bridge.
