England ratings: How the London contingent fared at Wembley

England strolled to a predictably easy win in the World Cup qualifier at Wembley, beating San Marino 5-0. Here’s how we rated the London contingent.

Reece James: 7

Played the first half and set the second goal with a fine cross to Dominic Kalvert-Lewin, who early missed a sitter after being found by another James delivery.

Ben Chilwell: 8

An easy night for the Chelsea man, who had the freedom of the left flank – and made the most of it. He set up the opener for James Ward-Prowse and was involved in the build-up to the fourth goal, producing a fine pass to find Jesse Lingard, who teed up Calvert-Lewin for a simple tap-in.

Mason Mount: 7

Like this Chelsea team-mate James, played the first half and was lively – and set up a goal. In Mount’s case it was with a ball through to Raheem Sterling. He also linked up with Chilwell in the build-up to the opening goal.

Jesse Lingard: 7

West Ham’s on-loan midfielder was lively throughout and set up Kalvert-Lewin but will be disappointed not to have scored. Missed a good chance and was denied by saves from Elia Benedettini.
