Chelsea are reportedly willing to take a reduced transfer fee in order to offload Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The midfielder has been on loan at Napoli, where has made made 35 appearances in all competition this season.
He cost £35m when he was bought from Monaco in 2017 and Chelsea have been keen to recoup as much of that as possible.
But CalcioNapoli24 have reported that Napoli have been told they can have Bakayoko on a permanent deal for £15.5m.
However, it is claimed that the Italian club want Chelsea to further reduce the asking price in order for a deal to be agreed.
The loan deal does not include an option to buy, but Chelsea are keen to finally offload him at the end of this season – particularly as his contract expires in 2022 and he would then be able to leave on a free transfer.
His brother Abdoulaye, who also acts as his agent, suggested in January that the France international is keen to move to Naples on a permanent deal.
“He is on loan until the end of the season and he hasn’t talked to the club yet, but staying at Napoli would be a nice opportunity, we’ll see,” Abdoulaye said, as reported by The Sun.
“He has played for many clubs, but he is happy at Napoli, the results are there and this club would be an ideal option for the future.
“Napoli are Scudetto contenders, a positive ending is in everyone’s interest. Napoli will be his priority in June.”
