Chelsea have contacted Rennes over a possible deal for Eduardo Camavinga but the player would prefer a move to Paris St-Germain, according to reports.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in Camavinga, but The Sun on Sunday have picked up on reports in France that he would rather move to Paris than the Premier League.
Rennes are willing to sell him for €30 million (just under £27 million), journalist Fabrizio Romano recently reported.
The revelation will have put Europe’s top clubs on red alert, with several – including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich – believed to hold a major interest in securing the 18-year-old midfielder’s services.
Camavinga, who at just 17 years, nine months and 29 days old, became the youngest player to play for the senior French side in 107 years, can play in central midfield as well as a defensive midfielder – two positions that the Blues are keen on fortifying before the start of the campaign.
Camavinga played against the Blues in the group stage of the Champions League this past season, but endured an indifferent campaign. With less than a year remaining on his contract, Camavinga is keen to make the move to a top club, forcing Rennes to sell him for a vastly reduced price.

It remains to be seen how strongly Chelsea pursue him, but he has certainly been on their radar for some time.
Meanwhile, West Ham are reportedly now favourites to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
