Chelsea reportedly set asking price for Zouma

Chelsea have set an asking price of €30 million (around £5.5 million) for Kurt Zouma amid major interest from several clubs, according to RMC Sport.

Roma’s former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old French international and is keen on bringing him to Serie A on a loan with an option to buy, but the Blues reportedly only want an outright sale.

Everton are also said to be keen on Zouma after a successful loan spell there in the 2018/19 season.

Zouma is said to have snubbed a potential move to Wolves but reports in his native France suggest he is still likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to Telefoot reporter Julien Maynard, Wolves expressed an interest in the centre-back but he was not keen on a move to Molineux.

It would not be a major surprise if Zouma was sold by Chelsea given their wealth of options at centre-back.

Veteran defender Thiago Silva recently had his contract extended by another year, while the club are expected to soon extend the contracts of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

That will leave Zouma facing a major battle for a first-team place – and boss Thomas Tuchel with more options than he probably needs in that position.

Christensen was outstanding after coming in for Silva last season and continued to impress for Denmark at the European Championship.

Rudiger appeared to be on his way out of the Bridge when overlooked by former manager Frank Lampard, but he has re-established himself since the appointment of fellow German Tuchel and looks set to extend his stay at the club.
