Chelsea and Liverpool eyeing Odegaard – reports

Chelsea are reportedly looking to pip Arsenal to the signing of Martin Odegaard.

The Real Madrid midfielder is on loan with the Gunners for the rest of the season and they are keen to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.

But Spanish newspaper AS have reported that both Chelsea and Liverpool have Odegaard in their sights.

Reports have recently suggested that Arsenal will look to agree another loan deal for Odegaard if Real are unwilling to let him go on a permanent basis.

It seems likely, though, that other clubs will be ready to move for him if Real decide he is not in their first-team plans for next season.

The player himself has insisted he will not think about the issue of his future until the summer.

“I haven’t thought about what’ll happen in summer,” Odegaard told Norwegian outlet VG, as reported by the Express.

“My deal with Arsenal is until the end of season. We’ll see what happens this summer.

“I’ve said things before that I still stand for: Stability and development are key words.”

The Express also suggest that Arsenal have doubts over whether Real would be prepared to part with Odegaard when his loan spell comes to an end.
