Mount completes move to United

Chelsea and Manchester United have agreed a deal for Mason Mount to move to Old Trafford.

United have had two previous offers rejected but now look set to sign the England international for an initial fee of £55m.

With add-ons, the fee for Mount could well rise past the £60m mark.

Mount, 24, is in the final year of his Chelsea contract and his long-term future has been in doubt for some time.

He has been with Chelsea since the age of six and has scored 33 goals in 195 appearances for the club since making his senior debut in 2019.

He won the Champions League with the Blues in 2021.

Mount’s expected departure comes during a summer of change at Chelsea, who spent £600m last season and therefore need to offload players before 30 June in order to balance the books and comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and keeper Edouard Mendy recently left for Saudi Arabia and are are set to be joined there by Hakim Ziyech, who is joining Al Nassr.

Mateo Kovacic has joined Manchester City and Kai Havertz has moved to Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is about to finalise a move to AC Milan.
