Arsenal v Southampton teams: young Gunners given chance, eight changes for Saints

Arsenal once again ring the changes for their EFL Cup quarter-final with Southampton, with just Mohamed Elneny surviving from the team which beat Bournemouth on Sunday.

The side is similar to the one that beat Reading in the previous round, with Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey added to increase the experience in midfield.

Lucas Perez returns after injury to start the game, while, just as against Reading, there are chances for Carl Jenkinson, Rob Holding and Jeff Reine-Adelaide.

Southampton make eight changes to their side from the Premier League outing against Everton at the weekend.

Fraser Forster, Virgil Van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand are retained, although the former Chelsea full-back may be used in an advanced role, with Sam McQueen also in the side.

Arsenal: Martinez; Jenkinson, Holding, Gabriel, Gibbs; Coquelin, Elneny; Reine-Adelaide, Ramsey, Iwobi; Lucas.
