Saka said to be ‘very interested’ in potential Liverpool move

Arsenal are said to have opened talks with Bukayo Saka’s representatives over an improved contract for him amid reported interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Saka has been instrumental in the Gunners’ top-four challenge this season, scoring five goals and notching four assists in 19 Premier League games.

But according to Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast, Liverpool are eyeing the 20-year-old as a long-term replacement for one of their current attackers – something it is claimed Saka would be interested in.

“We have reported on The Transfer Window Podcast that Liverpool are looking to the future with regards to the fact that they expect to sell at least two of their attacking players,” McGarry said.

“Saka is someone who is a player who suits Liverpool’s style.

“My understanding is that there have been talks with his representatives with regards to giving him a contract upgrade at Arsenal.

“Liverpool would provide the opportunity and platform for him to play and compete at the highest level and that would certainly be something that I’m told he and his representatives are very interested in.”

The report comes after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp described Saka as a “young and exciting player”.
