Paper round-up: Leeds linked with Van Aanholt

Leeds United are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt.

The Dutchman’s contract at Selhurst Park is due to expire at the end of the season and the Sunday Mirror say Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to snap him up.

Bielsa has rotated between Stuart Dallas and Gianni Alioski at left-back this season and has been tipped to strengthen in that area when the transfer window reopens.

Meanwhile, Tottenham could compete with Manchester United for the signing of Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, the Daily Star Sunday say.

Both clubs have been linked with keepers amid speculation over the futures of Spurs’ Hugo Lloris and United’s David De Gea and Dean Henderson.

The Daily Star Sunday say United have added Pope to their list of possible signings and that Spurs could also make a move for him.

The newspaper declare that Burnley have valued the England international at £50m and that the price could go even higher were he to impress at this year’s European Championships.

The Sunday Mirror claim Tottenham are interested in Southampton centre-back Jannik Vestergaard.

The Dane’s contract at St Mary’s expires next year and there have been suggestions that he could be sold this summer.

And Chelsea continue to be linked with Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

Alaba is approaching the end of his contract and has long been touted for a move to the Premier League.

The Daily Star Sunday say Chelsea and Manchester City could move for him as both clubs would be able to offer bigger wages than Barcelona and Real Madrid.
