Lampard to make changes: Expected Chelsea line-up against Man City

Chelsea face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge tonight and boss Frank Lampard faces some important choices over his starting line-up.

Lampard has Jorginho back from suspension, so has plenty of choices in midfield.

Much will depend on the fitness of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who returned against Aston Villa. Two matches in quick succession might be too much to ask of him after so long out.

It seems likely that Jorginho will return alongside N’Golo Kante in midfield then, with Mason Mount again in the advanced role.

In defence, Reece James could well be given a starting place, with Cesar Azpilicueta again being asked to operate at left-back.

Fikayo Tomori is still unavailable but in any case Lampard seems happy with the centre-back combination of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is still not fit but Lampard has other options, with Christian Pulisic pushing for a start after impressing – and scoring – at Villa.

Lampard might therefore decide to start with both Pulisic and Willian, sacrificing Mateo Kovacic in midfield.

And having started on the bench at Villa, expect Tammy Abraham to return to the starting line-up.

Predicted Chelsea line-up: Kepa; James, Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta; Kante, Jorginho; Willian, Mount, Pulisic; Abraham.
