Kepa plays, no Kovacic or Pulisic – expected Chelsea line-up against Leicester in FA Cup final

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel will have key man N’Golo Kante back in the side for the FA Cup final as the German proves just how desperate he is to win the first silverware of his reign.

Tuchel shouldered the blame for making so many changes for the midweek home defeat against Arsenal.

And even though his Wembley line-up was always likely to be a at near full strength – bar Kepa starting in goal – his selection will back up his determination to not take any chances against the Foxes.

Kante is likely to partnered by Jorginho in midfield, despite the latter’s howling error in the 1-0 loss to the Gunners, with the fit-again Mateo Kovacic set to be left on the bench because of a lack of match action.

They will most probably play ahead of back three of Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta, which would mean Reece James staying at right wing-back.

Ben Chilwell has emerged as the preferred option on the opposite side and is the marginal favourite to continue ahead of Marcos Alonso.

The front three is a fascinating call and, with Mason Mount a certain starter, it seems to a case of picking two from Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic has shown signs of his brilliant best but Tuchel seems to like the option of using the American as an impact player so the German duo of Havertz and Werner could well get the nod.

Chelsea possible line-up: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Werner, Havertz.
