Hazard’s former Chelsea team-mate believes he could go in January

Mark Schwarzer believes Eden Hazard could leave Chelsea this season.

Hazard, who continues to be linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid, has made no secret of his desire to play for the Spanish club.

But he said recently that will not join them in January and has no intention of agitating for a move from Stamford Bridge.

However, former Blues goalkeeper Schwarzer is not convinced.

Schwarzer believes Chelsea could be willing to do business if Real make an approach and Hazard will not sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

“I’m not so sure that he won’t leave in January,” Schwarzer said on Sky Sports.

“Real Madrid are having a shocker at the moment. If they come in in January and offer a lot of money for him and the club realise at that stage that he does want to go and won’t re-sign, what are the club going to do?

“Depending on the situation at Chelsea, where they are in the league, it could play a lot in it as well.

“He’s been very honest. Some people will be upset by it, but ultimately he’s talking about Real Madrid. Real are one of the most successful clubs on the planet.”
