Germany star suggests it’s ‘possible’ Tuchel will move for him

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann has seemingly hinted that Chelsea could be interested in signing him.

It follows reports in Germany that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel could sign his fellow countryman this summer.

Germany international Hofmann was linked with Tottenham in 2019, but signed a new deal and is under contract at Gladbach until 2023.

He is again being linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea said to be keen.

And it appears that the 28-year-old is aware of interest in him.

“It may be that one or the other club has expressed its interest,” he told Ruhr Nachrichten, as quoted by Sport Witness, when asked about Chelsea’s apparent pursuit of him.

“I think it’s clear that other clubs will notice you if you perform well. Therefore, it is possible that one or the other has already asked.”

Reports in Germany have suggested that Hofmann would cost around £14m.

But he has insisted he is happy at his current club and focused on doing well for them.

He is quoted as saying: “I feel good at Borussia. I have always emphasised that.

“The absolute focus is on having a successful season with Borussia and dedicating myself fully to success. I put my personal situation under it.”
