Fresh twist as Haaland is interested in Chelsea move – but it might not happen this year

Erling Haaland is reportedly interested in a move to Chelsea – but the deal might not happen until next year.

There has been much speculation over the future of the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League.

Chelsea are known admirers and Manchester City have also been chasing Haaland, whose performances in Germany have established him as one of the world’s top young players.

And The Telegraph reports that Haaland is interested in a move to Stamford Bridge as he considers life away from Dortmund.

But the Bundesliga club have made it clear that they do not want to sell him this summer.

So The Telegraph also say Chelsea have been working on a potential deal for 2022 should Dortmund stick to their guns and refuse to do business before then.

If the Norway international stays put for another year it will be interesting to see what Chelsea do in terms of bolstering their attacking options.

Although brilliant defensively since Thomas Tuchel took over as boss in January, the Blues were less effective in front of goal and Timo Werner struggled to find the net.

They have been widely tipped to bring in a top-class striker during the summer months in order to mount a strong challenge for the Premier League title next season.
