Granovskaia gives Lampard go-ahead for triple Chelsea signing

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has reportedly given Frank Lampard the green light to make a triple defensive signing.

Lampard is keen to bolster his defence for next season after the Blues secured a Champions League place despite their shortcomings at the back.

An improvement is definitely needed and it appears that Chelsea are ready to spend big in order to beef up their defence.

The Daily Star reports that Granovskaia, who negotiates the club’s transfer deals, is ready to sanction the signings of Ben Chilwell, John Stones and Lewis Dunk.

It comes after The Times reported that Chelsea had reached a breakthrough with Leicester City in discussions over a deal for England left-back Chilwell.

He would replace Marcos Alonso as Chelsea’s first-choice left-back and it appears that Chilwell is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, centre-backs Stones and Dunk have also been linked with moves to west London.

Stones has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at Manchester City and there has been speculation that boss Pep Guardiola could be ready to let him go this summer.

And Brighton stalwart Dunk – a Chelsea fan as a boy – has been linked with a £40m move to the Bridge.

Tottenham have also been linked with Dunk but he reportedly prefers a move to Chelsea.
