Chelsea linked with ‘new Paul Pogba’

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Barcelona’s teenage midfielder Ilaix Moriba.

Spanish publications Sport and AS have both reported that Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all keen on the highly-rated youngster.

He has been dubbed ‘the new Paul Pogba’ because of his similarity to the United and France midfielder.

Moriba had been tipped to sign a new deal at Barca but it appears that contract negotiations have now stalled.

According to Sport, Moriba was also upset after Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman left him out of the first-team squad in pre-season, which could further push the Guinea-born teenager towards a Premier League move.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also reported to be interested in former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

The 34-year-old Argentine is a free agent after recently leaving United at the end of his contract at Old Trafford.

The Blues are looking to bring in a back-up keeper following the recent departure of veteran stopper Willy Caballero.

Wayne Hennessey, who has since joined Burnley, and Marcus Bettinelli, who recently left Fulham after 15 years at Craven Cottage, are among those to have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Telegraph say Chelsea are now showing an interest in snapping up Romero.
