Chelsea legend’s son could join QPR despite injury setback

Henry Wise is set to get another chance to earn a move to QPR.

The 18-year-old son of Chelsea legend Dennis Wise recently joined the R’s on trial but went off injured during the first half of an Under-23 game this week.

Young Wise, who is currently on Derby County’s books, suffered a facial injury in an unfortunate clash of heads during a game against Charlton’s second string on Monday afternoon.

But Rangers’ Under-23 side are in action again on Friday, against Colchester, and the youngster is likely to feature in that game or a match against Ipswich early next month.

He was on QPR’s books before being offered a move to Arsenal four years ago. Wise later moved on to Derby’s academy.

His father was an ardent QPR fan as a boy but went on to become a cult hero during an 11-year spell at Chelsea.

Grant Hall and Darnell Furlong could also be involved in Friday afternoon’s match.

Furlong has been building up his fitness following the knee injury he suffered during pre-season.

Fellow defender Hall missed most of last season because of persistent knee trouble and is being eased back.
