Charlton’s miserable run goes on after Sam Dalby’s early strike gave Bolton a 1-0 win at The Valley.
Dalby struck after 18 minutes, drilling a left-footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom corner for his sixth goal of the season.
Charlton had started brightly, with Dan McNamara forcing a save from close range and Charlie Kelman also testing Bolton goalkeeper Jack Bonham from distance.
But the hosts struggled to carve out clear-cut chances after falling behind, even after Miles Leaburn came on at half-time and Matty Godden, Millenic Alli and Joe Rankin-Costello were thrown on later.
Karlan Grant fired wide from the centre of the box, Billy Koumetio headed off target from a corner and Tyreece Campbell curled narrowly wide in stoppage time.
Bolton, who lost Josh Sheehan and Atsuki Ito to injury in the second half, could have made the game safe late on, but Thierry Gale was twice denied by Charlton goalkeeper Will Mannion.
It was another frustrating night for the 14,885 fans inside The Valley.
Charlton have now lost four league games in a row and failed to score in their last two, following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.
They have managed just 11 goals in 14 Championship matches this season and sit 21st in the table.
