Wenger: Talks with Arsenal duo on hold

Arsenal manager Wenger has indicated that contract talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been put on hold.

Negotiations have been taking place with the Gunners duo, whose contracts are both due to expire in 2018.

So far they have not reached an agreement with the club and there has been much speculation over their futures.

Fenerbahce are the latest club to be linked with Ozil, while Chelsea have been tipped to move for Chilean forward Sanchez this summer.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Wenger suggested that no further discussions will take place until the end of the season.

“At the moment we have not got an agreement,” Wenger said when asked about Sanchez.

“We have decided to focus on the end of the season and talk about it in the summer.”

Wenger added: “It is the same situation with Ozil because once you don’t find an agreement and it [the situation] lasts, it is not good, so it is better you get it out and sit down in the summer.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are among three Premier League clubs The Sun say have offered a contract to Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac.

Liverpool and Manchester City are also said to have offered him a deal in the hope of signing him on a free transfer in the summer.

The 23-year-old Bosnia international is in the final months of his contract and has been touted for a move to England for some time.
