Carragher reckons Tottenham and Man Utd will finish above Arsenal

Jamie Carragher still believes Arsenal will lose out to Tottenham and Manchester United in the battle for a top-four finish.

The Gunners moved up to third by beating Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium, where Unai Emery’s side have been excellent this season.

However, they have struggled away from home and pundit Carragher reckons that will cost them.

Speaking on Sky Sports, former Liverpool and England defender Carragher said: “If I had to call it now I’d probably still go for Spurs and Man United.

“It’s almost two (goals) a game that they’re conceding away from home. The contrast with at home is unbelievable.

“The home form is probably as good as anything in the Premier League.”

Carragher’s fellow pundit and ex-England international Andy Cole agreed that Arsenal’s form away from home will make it tough for them to remain in the top four.

“With their away form, I’m not too sure,” Cole said.

“If they can pick up their away form from now until the end of the season then they’ve got a great chance. But the way their away form is, I wouldn’t put money on it.

“When Arsenal play away from home they give away a lot of sloppy goals – soft goals.

“With the players they have, Arsenal should be doing a hell of a lot better away from home.”
