Partey and Smith Rowe reportedly among eight Arsenal players who might leave

Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe are among eight players who could leave Arsenal this summer, the Daily Mirror claim

The newspaper say boss Mikel Arteta will not be able to revamp the squad this summer in the way he wants to unless he offloads players in order to balance the books.

It’s claimed that Partey could therefore be sold along with fellow midfielder Granit Xhaka, who has long been tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Ghana international Partey, 29, has two years remaining on his contract and the Gunners could expect to gain a hefty transfer fee for him if he goes.

The Mirror say two Italian clubs have shown an interest in Partey and that, with his form having dipped late in the season, the club could be tempted to cash in on him.

Meanwhile, the Mirror suggest Smith Rowe could also be “sacrificed” as part of Arsenal’s clear-out – a move that, were it to happen, would doubtless disappoint many fans.

In addition, Kieran Tierney, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are “on the chopping block” according to the Mirror, while the out-of-contract Reiss Nelson is expected to be become a free agent and Folarin Balogun is in demand after an impressive loan spell at French outfit Reims.
