Nuno admits he got it wrong in defeat at Arsenal

Nuno Espirito Santo admitted he got his tactics and team selection wrong against Arsenal.

Nuno’s Tottenham side were beaten 3-1 in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium, where goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka put the Gunners three up by half-time.

Spurs were woeful. especially in midfield, and boss Nuno took off Dele Alli at the interval along with Japhet Tanganga, sending on Oliver Skipp and Emerson Royal.

The visitors were better in the second half and Son Heung-min pulled a goal back.

“The performance was not good. The game plan was not good,” Nuno admitted to Sky Sports after the game.

“When you have a game plan you have to make the right decisions in terms of who you want to put on the pitch to develop that game plan, so I take responsibility because the decisions were not according to the game plan.

“The game plan was not according to the players that were on the pitch.”

Alli produced another disappointing display and continues to struggle for form.

Sky pundit Gary Neville gave a damning assessment of the England international, saying Alli looks “a shadow” of the player he was previously and “needs to sort himself out”.
