Paper round-up: Gunners again linked with Aouar

The Daily Mirror say Arsenal remain interested in Houssem Aouar amid reports he has been left out of the Lyon squad for a game against Reims this weekend after refusing to train.

Aouar was linked with a move to north London during the last transfer transfer window but ended up staying put.

French media reports have suggested that he refused to take part in a post-match warmdown session after being an unused substitute against Angers.

The Mirror say Arsenal “are expected to rekindle their interest in him at the end of the season.”

The newspaper also declare that Aouar has “rubbed Lyon staff up the wrong way” with his actions.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be eyeing a move for Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Gimenez.

The Sun have picked up on reports linking the Uruguay international with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

The story originates from the Here We Go podcast, on which it was claimed that Gimenez is a Blues target.

He is among several centre-backs Chelsea have been linked with ahead of the January transfer window.

And Tottenham are looking to sign Leicester City winger Demarai Gray on a free transfer, according to the Daily Express.

Gray’s Leicester contract expires at the end of the season and has indicated that he will not sign a new deal.
