Paper round-up: Celtic linked with Arsenal youngster

Celtic and German club RB Leipzig are interested in Arsenal’s England Under-17 goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, the Daily Mirror say.

The highly-rated Okonkwo, aged 16 and already 6ft 5in, has been discussing a new contract at Arsenal in recent weeks.

It is claimed that the club is in danger of losing him when his current deal ends this summer.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star have picked up Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann playing down reports linking him with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Nagelsmann has been touted as a possible replacement for the outgoing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal or Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

But he told Sky Germany: “These are just rumours. I focus on myself and my team – the focus is on nothing else.”

And Tottenham are confident manager Mauricio Pochettino will not walk out despite his comments after Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester United, The Sun reports.

Pochettino sparked more speculation about his future by suggesting Spurs would move forward either with him or “another manager” in the future.

The Sun quote a club source as saying: “It was seen as no big deal here.

“Mauricio was just talking long-term after a disappointing day for all of us.

“Nobody at the club expects or wants him to leave. He is still very much determined to continue what he has started.”

Pochettino said: “Tottenham need more time with me or with another, but the most important thing is to keep going and keep developing that philosophy that is fantastic for this club.”
