Arsenal trio ruled out of Leeds United clash

Arsenal will be without Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac for the trip to face Leeds United on Sunday.

Egypt midfielder Elneny and Bosnia-Herzegovina defender Kolasinac both tested positive for Covid-19 while on international duty and are therefore isolating.

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey, meanwhile, is out with a thigh injury.

Gunners boss Mikel Areta confirmed the news at a press conference on Friday morning.

He also dismissed reports of a training-ground fracas between David Luiz and midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Arteta said: “(It was) nothing. Training is very competitive and issues happen a lot of times and those things get resolved immediately within the team and not much to say – no problems at all.”

Areta was also irritated by questions about reports that Willian made a trip to Dubai during the international break despite the coronavirus lockdown.

“You keep asking me about more and more issues,” Arteta said.

“Whatever happens internally, issues we don’t expect as always we will try to resolve them internally and deal with and explain and we move on. We had a conversation and I explained what I was expecting.

“A lot of players are having different issues like any public person out there and sometimes they make decisions based on the needs or the moment or what people are expecting from them.”
