One-time Arsenal target Thomas Lemar will not be leaving Monaco in the January transfer window, according to the French club’s vice-president.
Lemar rejected a move to the Gunners on deadline day last August, after a reported £92m bid was lodged.
Arsenal were tipped to go in for the 20-year-old again this month, with Liverpool also linked.
But Vadim Vasilyev told French radio station RMC that Lemar was not for sale just yet.
“He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season 100%,” Vasilyev said, in quotes picked up by the Liverpool Echo.
When asked what would happen if Liverpool or Arsenal came in with a big offer before the window closed, he added: “This is not relevant.
“We will say no because the objectives are clear. Without important players like Lemar, we will not succeed.”
Lemar has scored twice in 16 appearances this season, with Monaco currently fourth in Ligue 1.
However they crashed out of the Champions League game without a win in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Monaco have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mirror, they have made a late approach for the striker, who is also interesting Chelsea.
