Monaco have expressed an interest in signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, the Mirror reports.

Chelsea have discussed signing the Gunners striker, who has been tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium if Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completes a move to north London ahead of the transfer deadline.

However, the Mirror suggest Monaco have made a late approach for Frenchman Giroud, who has been linked with several other clubs, including West Ham.

It comes after French publication claimed that Giroud agreed personal terms with Chelsea on Monday but that the Blues subsequently took the offer off the table because they believed Arsenal were taking too long to agree to the move.

Chelsea will move for Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente if they cannot land Giroud, The Sun say.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star say Chelsea are ready to let David Luiz join Arsenal in exchange as part of a deal involving Giroud.

The Daily Telegraph say Chelsea are looking to tie up the signing of Giroud, with Michy Batshuayi joining Dortmund on loan from the Blues as Aubameyang’s replacement.

Dortmund reportedly will not part with Aubameyang unless they can bring in another striker.

They are said to be keen on Giroud, who would prefer to stay in London.
